Palmetto Boxing Helps Raise $2,700 for Josh Torrence Memorial
November 12, 2007

Palmetto Boxing held a fundraising auction at the past Fall Bawl 2 boxing event to help raise funds for the Joshua L. Torrence Memorial Foundation. Joshua from Lexington, South Carolina was an Untied States Marine deployed to Iraq. Sadly, he lost his life while on patrol in March. Because of their love of Joshua, and their gratitude of his service and sacrifice, members of the White Knoll High School Community started a campaign to raise $150,000 dollars necessary to name the high school’s new field house in Joshua’s honor. The students reached their goal with a last minute anonymous donation. Senator John McCain joined in a dedication ceremony on Friday, November 2, 2007 in honoring the memory of Lance Corporal Joshua L. Torrence. Palmetto Boxing helps raise $2,700 dollars in their efforts to support this worth while cause.
