Friday, November
9th, 2006 -South Carolina's Johnny Brooks gets big opportunity
against Jaidon Codrington.
On Wednesday, November 15th, Light Heavyweight Johnny Brooks has a
chance to put himself on the boxing map. One can only hope that he
realizes the opportunity that has been placed before him.
At The Grand Ballroom in New York City, Brooks takes on Chin
Checkers' prospect Jaidon Codrington in a 6 round warm-up to the
Curtis Stevens/Marcos Primera rematch on this Lou Dibella promoted
fight card.
Codrington is coming off a solid, workmanlike win over former champ
turned trialhorse, Carl Daniels. This will be Jaidon's 4th fight
back from his devastating KO loss to the much more experienced Allan
Green.
Brooks, who lives in Saluda, SC. and trains out of the White Rock
Gym is coming off a disputed split decision loss to Manu Ntoh in
Atlanta. Ntoh was a much more experienced fighter with 30 fights to
his credit. Johnny more than held his own in a fight that he took on
one weeks notice.
With a deceiving record of 5-4-1 with 3KO's, Johnny Brooks is
looking to score a surprise upset and put himself on the prospect
list. Codrington, with a record of 12-1 10KO's, will be trying to
keep his contender status. Look for Brooks to put up strong
resistance while he tries to turn his career around after a few
recent setbacks.
