WBA Super Welterweight
Champion Travis Simms and WBA #1 rated middleweight Randy
Griffin training at Whiterock and Palmetto Boxing Gyms
(DEC 25) Instead of training in New York or Atlanta, WBA
champ Travis Simms decided to pack his bags and head to what
he calls home away from home Columbia S.C. to prepare for
his upcoming fight against the tough hard punching Jose
Rivera for the WBA Super Welterweight Title. The fight will
be aired Live Jan. 6 on Showtime at 10pm.
Training with Travis is one of the most feared boxers in the
middle weight division, Randy Griffin. Randy is also
preparing for an upcoming fight. Both fighters are promoted
by Don King.
“I feel like I’m at home. Billy and his staff have shown us
such great hospitality. He opens his gym for us and allows
us to train in an environment free of all the fanfare you
might find at other training camps. Training here has
allowed me to stay focused on the task at hand, defending my
WBA Title, Thank you Billy and Andrew”. Travis is no
stranger to Columbia or the Whiterock Boxing Gym. He has
trained here on numerous occasions before becoming the WBA
Champ.
“I can’t believe the hospitality that we’ve been shown since
coming to S.C.” says Randy, everyones been great. Training
camp shouldn’t feel like this. I will surely be coming back.
Thank you Andrew (Palmetto Boxing) and Billy (Whiterock
Boxing)”.
All of us at Whiterock and Palmetto boxing wish Travis and
Randy the best in there Boxing careers and thank them for
allowing us to host there training camp in S.C.
