Kevin Kibler wins Toughman
Title and $1,000 prize. Team mate Kelley Anudson makes it to semi
finals in first ever Toughman Contest
By Andrew Stokes
(FEB 13) This past Saturday Kevin Kibler and Kelley Anudson, Two
Palmetto Boxing boxers, training out of the White Rock Boxing Gym,
participated in the Regional Toughman Contest held in Asheville NC.
Kevin Kibler ,(pictured with the championship belt),out boxed and
out foxed the competition in the lightweight division to emerge as
the 2009 Regional Lightweight Toughman Champion. Kevin had to fight
a total of 5 times over a two day period before winning the $1000.00
prize that came along with the championship belt. The win qualifies
him for the World Toughman Championships in Biloxi, MS. The winner
of that contest brings home a prize of $50,000. Kelley Anudson,
(pictured in the blue shirt), fought brilliantly in his quest to
bring home the heavyweight title. He lost a split decision in the
semi-finals. He was ahead in the fight and had the momentum before
the fight was abruptly delayed for 5 minutes because of a ring
malfunction. Kelley feels, had it not been for the pause in the
action, he would have easily won the fight and advanced to the
finals. The extra time gave his opponent time to catch his breath
and regain his composure. In any event we congratulate you both on a
job well done. You represented yourself, Palmetto Boxing, The White
Rock Boxing Gym and the State of South Carolina well. Thank You from
all of us and we wish you continued success.
