A standing room only crowd was treated to a great night of amateur
boxing at The White Rock Boxing Gym this past Saturday, March 14,
2009. Palmetto Boxing hosted the 2009 South Carolina Golden Gloves
Tournament, which brought teams from as far away as North Carolina
and Georgia to compete against some of the most talented boxers in
the United States. Our home town boxers did not disappoint the many
fans that came out to support them.
Timothy Hunter Jr., De’Andre Robinson-Neal, and
Daniel Powell put on dominant performances on their way to decisive
victories against their opponents. The standing room only Crowed
also got a chance meet and greet Sen. Jake Knotts and Solicitor
Donald Myers, who came out to show their support. We sincerely thank
them for their support. Boxers who win the State Golden Gloves Title
will advance to the Regional Tournament in Tennessee.
A full report and details of the boxers advancing
will be posted in days to come. We would like to send out a special
thanks to our supporters Stanick Sheet Metal and Roofing, Grand
Rental Station, San Jose Restaurant, The Wild Hare, Rays Place,
Country Waters, Love Chevrolet, The Bradley Law firm and the many
others who helped make the 2009 State Golden Gloves Successful. The
show was promoted was by Andrew Stokes of Palmetto Boxing Academy
