We have a local young man Daniel Dangerous “DP” Powell, Graduated from Irmo
High School and played 2nd Base all throughout his school years. After playing
Baseball he decided to try another Sport, through some friends he heard about
White Rock Boxing Gym. First time being in the gym and first time lacing up
those Gloves he knew he had found his new sport “Boxing”!
DP started out as an Amateur with a record of two times South Carolina
Golden Gloves Champion, 2010 Georgia Games champion, has competed in the 2009,
2010, and 2011 Sothern Golden Gloves in Knoxville, Tennessee and he also
participated in the Kansas City and San Antonio National Ringside Tournaments.
After accomplishing a Great Amateur Career in 2012, with the support of
his manager Billy Stanick and his Family he decided that turning Pro was the
better Career move. So far in his Pro Career he has dominated every opponent
that has stepped in the ring with him. DP has a strong belief in Hard Work and
Dedication, and that if you believe you can achieve your goals in life.
For DP that is one day to be the Champ! Everyday DP dedicates his self to his
craft, running 5 mile every morning before going to work and from work he goes
to White Rock Boxing Gym and trains up to three hours. Billy Stanick had DP
tested on his speed and the results came back that he is 2 ˝ times faster than a
rattle snake.
Now DP has 10 wins and 9 by KOS, his most recent fight was for the UNBC Belt
which he stopped another undefeated 9-0 Richard Rivers in the fourth round TKO!
His Next Fight is for the USBO Light Welter Weight Championship title bout
against Jesus “Speedy” Gonzales another undefeated fighter! The Carolinas Boxing
Hall of Fame Fight Night will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina April 18,
2015 at the Metrolina Tradeshow EXPO! |
