Billy Stanick Celebrates 15 Years of Leadership with the Carolinas
Boxing Hall of Fame

Billy Stanick, the renowned founder and president of
White Rock Boxing Gym has
been involved with the Carolinas Boxing Hall of Fame since 2009, which marks
over 15 years of dedicated service on the Board of the Directors for this
organization.
Since being on the board in 2009, Stanick has remained one who has honored and
preserved the rich history of boxing across both North and South Carolina.
Stanick reflecting on his tenure and the hall of fame’s ongoing mission he said,
"I am proud of the Carolinas Boxing Hall of Fame and happy to be part of this
organization."
Stanick’s journey in boxing spans more than half a century. A former amateur
Golden Gloves boxer himself, he has transitioned seamlessly through every facet
of the sport—acting as a high-profile trainer, manager, and promoter. His
relentless devotion to boxing earned him the prestigious Palmetto Patriot Award,
one of the highest civilian honors in South Carolina.
In 1995, Stanick transformed a local roofing warehouse in Chapin, South
Carolina, into the legendary White Rock Boxing Gym. Alongside longtime trainer
Mike English, Stanick powerhouse that operates as a haven for amateur, "blue
collar," and professional fighters alike.
Under Stanick's guidance and gym banner, White Rock Boxing has produced several
South Carolina Golden Gloves champions, including notable local fighters.
Beyond his board duties, Stanick recently received the Floyd Patterson Lifetime
Achievement Award from the Carolinas Boxing Hall of Fame.
Whether hosting standing-room-only USA Boxing amateur shows Stanick remains one
of the influential figures in regional sports history. Through the Carolinas
Boxing Hall of Fame, he continues to ensure that the dedication of
Carolinas-linked athletes, coaches, and promoters is permanently etched into
sports history.
