14-Year-Old Undefeated Boxing Amateur boxer Michael McCoy Set to Fight in Rock Hill Following High-Stakes Sparring Session

(JULY 3) CHAPIN, SC — Fourteen-year-old amateur boxing standout Michael "The Real McCoy" McCoy is heading to Rock Hill, South Carolina, on July 11th for his next highly anticipated bout. Michael, who holds a perfect 4-0 record, solidified his fight readiness during a grueling, high-intensity sparring session at White Rock Boxing Gym.

Yesterday, McCoy stepped into the ring for the second time against Carson Lamar, the number-two ranked amateur boxer in the United States.

“He’s the next big thing," said Shelby Gross after watching the sparring. "His heart was tested in this sparring session. He’s the real McCoy.”

Behind McCoy's rapid rise is an interesting rooted family story. He is trained by White Rock Boxing coach Sean Fink, who is also Michael’s adopted father. Fink balances his time coaching while raising Michael and his brother, Elijah.

The tight-knit team has earned the respect of the local boxing community, including White Rock Boxing Gym owner Billy Stanick.

“Sean and I have been great friends for many years,” Stanick said. “I am incredibly proud of having Sean Fink and Michael McCoy working out at the White Rock Boxing Gym.”

Beyond his perfect boxing record, McCoy is a well-rounded athlete. He also plays football in Chapin, South Carolina. Coaches and peers frequently note that despite his fierce competitive drive in the ring, he carries himself with politeness, and mental sharpness outside of it.

McCoy will look to protect his undefeated 4-0 streak on July 11th in Rock Hill.
