In the local news, SHELBY GROSS with Gladiator's Boxing (Former Cruiserweight World Champion, and five-time Toughman Champion is putting on an amateur boxing event at the Camden City Arena, Camden SC on this Saturday, July 30th. Doors open at 3:00 pm and the fights begin at 4 pm. A special addition has former Olympic Heavyweight Champion and former Heavyweight Champion of the World "Merciless" Ray Mercer will be in attendance. Along with Billy G. Stanick, President and owner of the White Rock Boxing Gym; Stanick Boat Storage; Stanick Sheet Metal and Roofing; and Carolina's Boxing Hall of Famer Rusty Fickling. (APRIL 26) On Friday, April 22nd, the Carolinas Boxing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony event held at the Sheraton Charlotte Airport, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event was a huge success with a sold-out crowd of special guests, attendees and the honorable CBHOF Inductees for 2022. Due to the Covid issues that plagued many events, the Induction Ceremony that would have taken place in 2020 was postponed until 2022. DeAundre Pettus, 154, of Columbia, South Carolina, who trains out of White Rock Boxing, experienced his first loss when he fought Robert Terry, 155, of Jersey City, of New Jersey, fought in a six-round bout. Billy Stanick, President of the White Rock Hall of Fame and CBHOF board member recalls the first time he met Dr. Edwards. In the above photo, Stanick said, "My boxing coach James Gallmon being examined by Doctor Anne Edwards' at Hurricane Boxing in Charleston. This was when I first met Doctor Edward's.
